My work as a visual artist is largely inspired by Peter Blake and his wife Jann Haworth’s design of The Beatles’ St. Pepper’s album cover. Added to this was German artist, Heinz Edelmann’s design of The Beatles 1968 animated film, Yellow Submarine. In both cases, the combination of photography, illustration, and typography captured my young imagination that would often drift for hours through the imagery, riveted by the manipulation of various media.
